At a micro UK Data Centre, our design and manufacturing teams faced an epic project that pushed their skills to the limit. Tasked with housing three Baudouin 12M33G1250/5 engines to achieve 75dB(A) at 1 meter, we embarked on constructing enclosures that started at 2,500mm wide and culminated in a single impressive 7,500mm wide solution. Each walkaround enclosure measured 6,500mm long x 3,200mm high, featuring end inlet & extract attenuators totalling 9,800mm in length. The attenuators included standard fixed blade weather louvres and a flexible plenum for air extract connection to the engine radiator. Access was facilitated through doors on each long side, equipped with fridge-type handles and internal panic releases, while the central container boasted two single roller shutter doors.
Additionally, the project included the installation of 6,000-litre fuel tanks with a bunded base, totalling a capacity of 18,000 litres. To address the acoustic requirements, Mild Steel exhaust silencers were positioned externally.
Our turnkey solution extended to a comprehensive electrical package, retrofitting of the generators via deploying our IMS Service Engineers on-site for seamless unit installation.
