IMS are now in the position to welcome someone responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a band saw. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and operate the saw to cut and shape steel in compliance to customer’s needs.
The Role:
- Set up & operate a band saw to cut steel.
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance is correct.
- File, grind & smooth rough edges.
- Read production drawings to determine product specifications.
- Select & install saw blades and other attachments according to specifications.
- Maintain saw checking and replacing worn blades, belts & other parts.
- Keep records of daily production progress.
- Examine finished work pieces for defects.
- Ensure that company health & safety policies, procedures, safe systems of work, method statements & risk assessments are strictly adhered to.
- Assist with general labour & forklift truck duties as required (training to be provided).
The Package:
- 40 hours a week.
- Full training to be provided but experience in a similar field is desirable.
- Willing to be flexible with the shift patterns worked for the right candidates (7.30am-4:00pm).
- Regular overtime available when working through big projects.
- Competitive rate of pay up to £_____ an hour – depending on experience
- 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
