IMS are now in the position to welcome someone responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a band saw. The ideal candidate will be able to set up and operate the saw to cut and shape steel in compliance to customer’s needs.

The Role:

  • Set up & operate a band saw to cut steel.
  • Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance is correct.
  • File, grind & smooth rough edges.
  • Read production drawings to determine product specifications.
  • Select & install saw blades and other attachments according to specifications.
  • Maintain saw checking and replacing worn blades, belts & other parts.
  • Keep records of daily production progress.
  • Examine finished work pieces for defects.
  • Ensure that company health & safety policies, procedures, safe systems of work, method statements & risk assessments are strictly adhered to.
  • Assist with general labour & forklift truck duties as required (training to be provided).

The Package:

  • 40 hours a week.
  • Full training to be provided but experience in a similar field is desirable.
  • Willing to be flexible with the shift patterns worked for the right candidates (7.30am-4:00pm).
  • Regular overtime available when working through big projects.
  • Competitive rate of pay up to £_____ an hour – depending on experience
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays.
